Inspired by the nature in which it is located, the project “Casa Refúgio da Preguiça”, designed by architect Eliezer Ferreira, from the GAD Projetos de Arquitetura office, stands out for how it harmoniously integrates into the surrounding ecosystem, full of greenery and wild animals.

Located in Condomínio Praia Bella, in the charming Praia do Forte, in Bahia, the name of the residence was in honor of the sloth that was already living in the area even before the construction.

With more than 3550 ft², the house has a modern architectural style. Its straight lines make a beautiful composition with the wood used in the openings, uniting the rustic with the contemporary.

Also noteworthy is the pergola created with HPL panels – a material that Tidelli pioneered as a raw material for furniture in Brazil. With hollow cutouts, they promote an effect of light and shadow and bring organic movements to life from the sun's position.

The pergola was built as an elongated extension of the second-floor roof to protect the deck in the outdoor area, in front of the pool – which received a floating cushion.

In this space, the architect created small lounges using comfortable Tulum lounge chairs, Pucon modules, and a Spool table with Kauai chairs. To give functionality to the spaces, he added a Biarritz side table with a bucket, a Marina coffee table, and garden seat, a Maui multipurpose coffee table, and a wide ombrelone.

In front of the deck, is the Oslo daybed with aluminum, wood structure, and canopy, with voile curtains on the sides. A sofa with a folding screen from the Veracruz collection adds charm to the outdoor setting.

On the second floor, the balcony brings lightness in the form of rest spaces. A whirlpool bath composes the decoration along with the Ruy Ohtake Pendulum swing, Soft modules and puff, Bora Bora and Wave side table, Fusion console, and vases covered in nautical ropes.

Another detail of this project is the integration of spaces, such as the gourmet, the living and dining rooms, which have a modern table with Mikonos chairs and stools. The union of the environments and the choice of comfortable Tidelli furniture were all thought to bring the family and guests together in good get-togethers.

Architect Eliezer Ferreira worked with a color palette in shades of blue, green, and nudes, such as sand, for the furniture. The objective was to create a home of rest for the family, with relaxing colors and a lot of coziness. “Our final result is a house with life, from the structure to the furniture, from the exuberant nature to the animals. It is the house of laziness, breathing, and coexistence. It is home”, concludes the architect.
