A family from São Paulo with a common love: Rio de Janeiro! The city of Rio de Janeiro has always been part of the travel itinerary of the parents and their two daughters. When the opportunity arose to buy a property in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, they did not think twice.

To develop the renovation and ambience project, the renowned architect Cristina Cortês was called in. The professional made the clients' dreams come true by transforming the duplex penthouse in Barra da Tijuca, with more than 2691ft², into a true “beach house”. The decoration is all done in shades of blue and nudes, making the place perfect for vacations and receiving friends.

On the second floor, the outdoor area underwent changes that left the wet deck of the pool facing the sea, one of the requests she received during the conception. The architect chose floating pillows and a Club pool chaise in the water for those who want to energize themselves under the Rio sun.

In designing this space, one of the most important for having several leisure and rest environments, the architect chose to apply some points of color through the furniture and accessories. Working with Tidelli furniture, Cristina Côrtes had a varied palette of colors and combinations of nautical ropes.

Next to the pool, on the uncovered terrace, a dining lounge is composed of a Piramide table with a wooden top and Giardino chairs covered with turquoise nautical rope. The sun protection was provided by the Roma side ombrelone.

In another outdoor space, comfortable Mesh swivel lounge chairs finished all in sand color formed a beautiful composition with the Marina coffee table with champagne, also in turquoise.

In the surroundings, the architect distributed Maui baskets in different sizes for towels, oval and round vases for plants, and baskets with lids and trays from the Maui line.

On the roof, the living room upholstery received Tidelli pillows with exclusive, multicolored prints and the new Ropetex fabric, woven like handmade knitting and composed of polyester threads. On the sides, Octa turquoise side tables and, on the rack, DNA terracotta cord. The main kitchen with grill has modern Amado bar stools in the same shade of blue on the countertop.

The Moorea console was placed on the first floor, in the entrance hall. In the kitchen, Bali chairs made of sand rope build a neutral atmosphere, giving highlight to the Imperial Bowl.

Next to the living room window, the architect reserved a space to fulfill one more of the family's requests: having a swing. Super cool and at the same time elegant for the choice of colors, the Fusion loveseat invites those who pass by the place to bring back the best childhood memories.

According to the architect, the choices for the roof design were thought to be functional and easy to maintain. And Tidelli is aligned with this concept. All brand products are developed with excellent raw material, which promotes high resistance to the most varied climate changes, such as high temperatures, constant sun exposure and intense rains.

According to Cristina Côrtes, the objective was to give the roof a “beach house” look, with all the lightness they convey. The idea is that everyone who is in the house, whether family or friends, will have the same feeling: an incredible vacation in Rio de Janeiro.
